nothing but the beat

white blouse (mum's) - $0
blue jeans (Cocolatte) - $20
brogue lace heels - $5
total - $25

to be honest,
the blue denims aren't mine - they're my mum's.
but i was with her when she bought them..... so..... mm...

and yes, this is the outfit in my new banner

the blouse is the one I was talking about in another outfit post a while back
and the heels are the ones i got for 5 dollarmollars.

on a side note,
i bought a bucket today.
a black plastic bucket.
for 72cents.
i don't know why i bought a bucket,
but 72cents for a bucket in this economy seems pretty damn good to me.

going botanical

so i need to start my major work for visual arts 2012.
aiya.

my teacher suggested botanical illustrations.
didn't think about botanical art.
but i don't mind the idea.

these are some past works from quite a while ago. i like the tomato and peas.
i really like the peas.

i want to do something large scale.
large scale botanical works?
breaking conventions because botanical illustrations
are meant to be small, neat, delicate?
like i want large.
large as like 2 doors? haha i don't know.
still thinking/still researching

diy: you octopi my thoughts

DSC_0674

DSC_0670

DSC_0673

a simple tote bag i made ages ago.
hadn't used it until this week because, i accidently left
my yellow highlight lid uncapped and it went all over my other tote.
'you octopi my thoughts'
haha oh yes you do. jokes!

i realise now that my octopus looks kinda evil.
i should fix that up, when i have the time...

simple steps:
1. make the design you want on your bag.
(i added an octopus pun which i just found on the internet)
2. paint with fabric paint.
DSC_0675
i used lavender & black fabric paint. i mixed a bit of both to get the dark maroon colour.
3. let dry and iron accordingly to instructions from the fabric paint.
4. and you're done. time to enjoy your new tote.
